A. GNLD searches the world for top quality raw materials needed to fulfill Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) product formulations. GNLD has chosen to take full responsibility for testing every raw material used in its products to make sure all ingredients are "pesticide free". No matter how reliable or reputable the supplier, raw materials are routinely sampled and subjected to rigorous testing for potency and purity using state of the art laboratory equipment. GNLD uses over 3000 different raw materials in the manufacture and they must pass stringent Quality Control (QC) processes before becoming an ingredient in any product. In addition, GNLD requires specification sheets and Certificates of Analysis for all nutritive food raw materials purchased to be certain that these raw materials are worthy of being included in a GNLD product. This is the GNLD difference.

Q. What are Tre-en-en Grain Concentrates?

A. At the foundation of Formula IV and Formula IV Plus is Tre-en-en Grain Concentrates. This unique and exclusive whole-food blend of extracts from wheat, rice, and soy "feeds your cells" with important phytonutrients. Developed and introduced by GNLD in 1958, Tre-en-en Grain Concentrates is the original phytonutrient supplement. It provides phyto-lipids, including omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids essential for optimum health and cellular function, plus the plant sterols beta-sitosterol, gamma-oryzanol, stimasterol and campesterol. Besides optimizing cellular nutrition, plant sterols may have other beneficial effects as well. These include reducing cholesterol levels, lowering the risk of atheroscelerosis and inhibiting tumors. Octacosanol, which is a closely related component, is also included to aid in critical biological functions.

Q. What are the sources for all the ingredients in Formula IV Plus?

A. Formula IV Plus is not just vitamin and mineral supplements; they are multi-factor food supplements, chock-full of whole food ingredients. Besides containing many of the important vitamins and minerals missing from our diets, they also contain our exclusive Tre-en-en Grain Concentrates. Tre-en-en is the largest component of Formula IV Plus, and the sources are listed on the label, as are many of the other sources of the nutrients used in these products. We also use natural soy-derived Vitamin E, Vitamin C derived from corn, and B-complex vitamins from biologically bound yeast. Our approach to product formulation is to always look first to nature for 100% natural, whole food ingredients from the human food chain. Because some natural ingredients can be weak, unstable, or unavailable, for some products we next look to natural concentrates or isolates to achieve our formulation goals. Lastly, if the two previous steps don't deliver the effect we need, then we will select additional pure pharmaceutical-grade ingredients from a list of safe, low-allergy components. These are components which have been shown by research to function effectively, providing superior bioavailability and overall nutritional excellence. This approach allows us to keep consistent with both nature's blueprint and the latest scientific nutritional research. Q. Are Formula IV and Formula IV Plus gluten-free?

A. The wheat germ we use in Formula IV and Formula IV Plus as part of the Tre-en-en Grain Concentrates contains no wheat gluten. In fact, all GNLD products are gluten-free.

Q. What diseases does GNLD check for in the fish used in Omega III Concentrate?

A. GNLD’s Omega III Concentrate offers a level of quality and consistency unparalleled by any other fish oil products. We follow the strict standard testing protocols established by Europe and adopted by the U.S. government. The FDA Hazardous And Critical Control Point (HACCP) program requires screening for at least 29 disease and parasite hazards commonly carried by fish, including severe hazards, such as hepatitis A and E, clostridium botulinum types A, B, E, and F, and trichinella spiralis. Our careful screening makes certain that GNLD Omega III Salmon Oil is the highest quality, purity, and consistency humanly possible for a natural product of this type!

Q. What kind of testing takes place to insure there is no mercury in the Omega III Concentrate?

A. We follow the standard testing protocols of the American Organization of Organic Chemists to verify that our Omega III Concentrate is pesticide free and free of heavy metal contaminants, such as mercury.

Q. Can someone with diabetes consume Vitality Aloe Vera Plus safely, since it contains the sweetener fructose?

A. Because Vitality Aloe Vera Plus is sweetened with fructose, which does not produce an "insulin spike" as does sucrose, many people with diabetes are able to use Vitality Aloe Vera Plus without difficulty. However, we would always recommend that such questions be put to the person’s physician. Diabetes is a serious medical condition which can be affected by diet, and which varies from one person to the next and can worsen with age, so dietary changes should be considered carefully.

Q. How much of Vitality Aloe Vera Plus is aloe vera juice? And, how much of the aloe vera juice in Vitality Aloe Vera Plus is pure?

A. The aloe vera juice in Vitality Aloe Vera Plus is 100% pure, filtered aloe vera, and makes up 50% of the ingredients. The other 50% is comprised of our unique vitamin and electrolyte infused Special 3x Herbal Tea Blend.
